Black History Month Career Panel

Theme: Amplifying Black Voices & Career Journeys


Date: Tuesday, February 24, 2026

Time: 5:30pm-7:00 pm

Location: PAL Harlem, 441 Manhattan Avenue (corner of 119th Street), NY, NY, 10026

Number of Volunteers Needed: 10 In-Person Panelists


Goal of the Workshop: This event will provide a space for students to engage with Black professionals who exemplify leadership and resilience in their fields. Panelists will discuss their experiences navigating identity and career. Through this dialogue, students will deepen their understanding of systemic challenges and personal strategies for professional growth as members of underserved communities.


Volunteer Responsibilities:

  • Expose students to diverse Black professionals across industries
  • Highlight identity, leadership, and navigating workplace culture
  • Build confidence and representation ahead of spring opportunities

Networking & Professional Picture Day

Date: Wednesday, March 11, 2026

Time: 5:30-7:30PM 

Location: PAL Harlem, 441 Manhattan Avenue (corner of 119th Street), NY, NY, 10026


Volunteers Needed:

  • 4 alumni/professional volunteers for networking conversations

Purpose:
  • Provide students with professional headshots
  • Create a supportive environment for practicing elevator pitches
  • Facilitate meaningful networking with alumni and professionals

Harmony in Bloom: Music, Emotions & Creative Pathways - Creative Career Panel

Date: Wednesday, March 24, 2026

Time: 6:30-7:15PM 

Location: PAL Harlem, 441 Manhattan Avenue (corner of 119th Street), NY, NY, 10026


Volunteers Needed:

  • 4–6 creative panelists (Producers, artists, musicians, designers, content creators, or creative entrepreneurs)

Purpose:
  • Showcase real creative processes through a live artist demo
  • Introduce students to diverse creative career paths
  • Highlight how ideas become finished work
  • Provide young creatives with relatable advice, inspiration, and practical insight
What Volunteers Will Do:
  • Lead a short creative demo (beat making, performance, songwriting, visual art, design, or behind‑the‑scenes workflow)
  • Participate in a mini‑panel on creative journeys
  • Share how you got started, a challenge you’ve faced, and one piece of advice for young artists
  • Engage in an interactive Q&A with students

Women's History Month Career Panel

Theme: Women Leading Across Sectors


Date: Tuesday, March 31, 2026

Time: 5:30pm-7:00 pm

Location: PAL Harlem, 441 Manhattan Avenue (corner of 119th Street), NY, NY, 10026

Number of Volunteers Needed: 10 In-Person Panelists


Goal of the Workshop: This event will create a space for students to engage with women professionals who exemplify leadership, resilience, and purpose across sectors. Panelists will share their career journeys, reflect on navigating identity and leadership, and discuss the realities of gender equity and mentorship. Through this dialogue, students will deepen their understanding of systemic challenges and gain personal strategies for professional growth as young leaders from underserved communities.


Volunteer Responsibilities:

  • Showcase women leaders' career paths
  • Discuss gender equity, mentorship and leadership

Community Resource Fair

Date: Saturday, April 18, 2026

Time: 12:00pm-3:30pm

Location: PAL Harlem, 441 Manhattan Avenue (corner of 119th Street), NY, NY, 10026

Number of Volunteers Needed: 10 In-Person Volunteers


Goal of Program:

This free, community-facing event aims to unite the community for a day of fun, connection, and valuable resources. Local community-based organizations and companies will share information, services, and resources to support the overall health and well-being of the community. Attendees can also participate in fun and educational activities suitable for all ages.


Volunteer Roles:

  • Set‑up
  • Check‑in
  • Food distribution
  • Monitoring arts & crafts booth
  • Clean‑up

Virtual Career Panel
